In 2026, wellness trends are shifting toward the slow, the simple, and the specialized. From personalized supplementation plans to community-based care, these wellness trends are reshaping how we live and thrive—while also reminding us that true wellbeing often requires a more mindful relationship with technology, and less time spent tethered to our screens.

SPECIALIZED SUPPLEMENTATION: Increasingly, medical providers are able to offer testing that will provide a distinct portrait of your individual health needs, and then curate a vitamin regimen to match those needs. From epigenome (DNA testing), microbiome (gut health), and lifestyle stressor testing, this is the age of informed, bespoke vitamin intake.

TECH ABSTINENCE: Research proves time and time again that the amount of time we spend on our devices is negatively correlated with lower individual happiness. Conversely, stepping back from technology can create positive knock-on effects throughout your health, from better sleep to greater mental clarity and more brain space for what matters. In the case of stress and burnout, prevention is far more effective than repair. We can employ device-free rituals, sleep hacks, the return of analog alarm clocks and banning phones in bed, to screen time monitors, digital detox retreats to lower our screen time.

THE RISE OF COMMUNITY WELLNESS & CONNECTION: Social media’s ability to connect people has fueled a growing shift toward community and group-based approaches to wellness. Research supports the benefits of spending time with others who share your health goals, whether through workout classes, running clubs, or hiking groups. These communities—now easy to discover online—are increasingly accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and aspirations.

WELLNESS IN THE METAVERSE: Though device-addiction remains harmful, there is a strong appetite for blending health, fitness, and mental wellbeing with digital technology. From immersive virtual reality workouts and guided meditation to virtual spa retreats and even therapy delivered by AI avatars, there is an increasingly rich field of online wellness that exists 100% online. This rich new arena of health and wellness-based activity is only expected to grow in 2026. Virtual wellness practices allow for self improvement regardless of location or scheduling conflicts.

Overall, as technological and scientific advances give us greater control over our personal health data, it’s important to remain mindful of the risks of over-reliance on individual devices. These trends suggest that a more intentional, moderated relationship with technology will be key to maximizing wellness this year and in the year ahead.
